Linda + Ryan | Engagement Photography Toronto

I had the honour and pleasure of shooting Linda and Ryan's engagement session at Toronto's historic Distillery District. These turn-of-the-century industrial buildings were originally owned by  the Gooderham & Worts Distillery who produced whiskey. The distillery sat empty since closing in 1990 and reopened in in 2003. It was transformed into a gorgeous heritage attraction that includes that has plenty of hip cache in their art galleries, brewery and restaurants. Linda and Ryan so much fun to work with during this photo shoot plus it helps that they were crazy for each other! These are some...

My Trip to Asia: Laos

My Trip to Asia: Laos

One of the things I love most about life the fact that we live in this big ol' world and all the incredible cultures, sights, and experiences that it has to offer. Last fall I took a trip to South East Asia and the plan was to see as much of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in a 7 week span as I could. The following is a few photos I made from the first leg of my trip to Laos. I spent some time in the town & UNESCO heritage site of Luang Prabang and stayed at a great little family run bed & breakfast called Khoun and Khone Bungalows. The owner Khoun does quite a bit of local charity work so we visited...

Julia + Ernesto | Engagement Photography

I met up with Julia and Ernesto at High Park a few weeks ago to shoot their engagement photos. The engagements session is a fun way for me to get to know the bride + groom better before their wedding day, and to get them to used to having a camera follow them around like their personal paparazzi! For many people, having their picture taken can be a intimidating so I like using this time to ever-so-gently warm them up to the idea of having 1500+ photos taken of them in a span of a few hours. Of course, J+E being such down-to-earth folks and were great to work. We took a few photos at the High...

Melissa + Bruce | Toronto Wedding Photography

I'd like to thank Melissa and Bruce for the pleasure of having me spend the day with them photographing their great wedding! They're a amazingly loving couple with close-knit group of family and friends which made my job a complete joy that day! My second shooter was the uber-talented Amy Muir who is an awesome awesome music photographer --  check out her work here. The ceremony and reception were all held in Toronto's historic Old Mill Spa & Inn.

Melissa & Bruce’s Engagement Session

I drove north of my usual stomping grounds in Toronto to Brampton for Melissa and Bruce's engagement shoot. We went to one of the bigger parks in the area which is nice and spacious -- more room to play in! M & B were great to work with since it didn't take long for them to warm up in front of the camera. M & B were totally natural which made my job so much easier. They've been together since high school and I think photos we made really show how much they love one another! M & B's wedding photos are coming up next!

Last night my girlfriend Jo and I found a pair of sunglasses circa 1984 lying around the house... We put my Profoto strobes to work and had some fun goofing around in the studio!

Location Photography Shoot with Gen in a Vintage Dress

Some of my favourite portait shoots are on location using a mix of natural light and studio strobes. Gen was great to work with during our shoot in a nearby park. I lucked out with the cloudy weather, the light was almost perfect!
